Dr. Nina took a year away for self-care to better care for her patients. Women often struggle with burnout, Dr. Nina turned her burnout into action. Dr. Nina T Washington, MD, MPH, also known as Doc Wash, is a board-certified pediatric
rheumatologist. She was born and raised in Jackson, MS and is a proud graduate of Xavier University of
Louisiana where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Nina received her medical
doctorate from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Nina suffered from a severe case of wanderlust and prior to the pandemic, enjoyed traveling as much as possible. From July 2019 to December 2020, she traveled to and lived in 12 countries in South America, Asia, and Europe. Her travels awakened her creative side, and she started a blog, a YouTube channel, and began writing her first book. She enjoys cooking, reading, meeting new people, learning about different cultures, and savoring international cuisines.
